Charleston New Year’s Eve for the Last-Minute Planner

Handsome Properties December 30, 2015

Deciding how to spend New Year’s Eve tends to happen at the last minute for many of us, having just wrapped up another busy work year. Luckily, Charleston SC has enough options to allow even the procrastinators some variety when it comes to ringing in the New Year. Take a look at some of these great options below (and as I’m writing this, it’s still not too late to buy tickets!)

1. Bay Street Biergarten’s Masquerade New Year’s Eve Party

Enjoy all that the Biergarten usually has to offer, including enough craft beer selections to make the most savvy of beer enthusiasts happy, and much more. An entry ticket into this party includes music by DJ Precise, drink tickets for premium liquors and draft biers, passed hors d’oeuvres, a masquerade mask contest, and much more. To read more about this event and to buy tickets, click here.

2. New Charleston Restaurant 5Church’s New Year’s Eve Dinner

A newcomer to Charleston restaurant scene, 5Church is offering a three-course New Year’s Eve menu which includes tuna tartare, filet mignon, seared hamachi, and more. If you’re in the mood to enjoy a nice sit down meal, this is the option for you.

Pricing begins at $60 per head and includes three courses as well as champagne for the table. After dinner, for a $30 upgrade, guests can enjoy the open bar and DJ who will play at the venue through midnight. Those who are interested in checking out the new food scene in the downtown area should be sure to consider this option. Reservations can be made at their website here.

3. Family Friendly Fun at Marion Square: Happy New Year Charleston!

A great option for those who want to include the kiddos, Marion Square is offering a free event to celebrate the ringing in of 2016! Definitely geared toward families, this non-alcoholic event lasts from 4-7pm and features comedy, live music, and dance entertainment.

4. New Year’s Eve Dinner at the Drawing Room

Close to waterfront park and right in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, the Drawing Room is offering an elegant 5 course tasting menu with champagne pairings for their New Year’s celebration. Dinner will be served from 5-10PM and dishes include a smoked oyster and calico scallop, lobster encrusted snapper, dry aged NY strip, and vanilla orange sorbet with puff pastry and whipped ricotta. Click here to make your reservations before it’s booked!

5. Rooftop Bar at Vendue: Ring It in on the Roof!

If you’ve just enjoyed dinner at the Drawing Room, why not venture upstairs enjoy the beautiful downtown Charleston skyline at one of the few rooftop venues in the city! For $20 per head, enjoy a champagne toast at midnight as well as DJ entertainment. No advanced ticket purchase necessary, just be prepared to arrive fairly early to ensure your spot on the rooftop. For more information on this event, click here.

All is certainly not lost if you haven’t finalized your New Year’s Eve plans yet. All of us at Handsome Properties hope that you enjoy a happy and safe New Year’s celebration! We hope to see you as we ring in the year 2016!
