Our favorite park, White Point Gardens, covers almost 6 acres of the most southern tip of the Charleston Peninsula. With beautiful waterfront on one side and gorgeous historic homes on the other, White Point Gardens has become one of the most popular outdoor attractions for tourists and residents alike.
Not only is White Point Gardens beautiful, it also features many monuments that represent important events in the history of Charleston. On any day at White Point Gardens you can find people taking pictures in front of the scenic gazebo, having a picnic under the trees, or walking their dogs along the water.
44 South Battery is located steps away from White Point Gardens, and was originally built in 1835. Since then, it has been beautifully renovated, though much of its original historic details and charm has been wonderfully preserved. Waterfront views can be enjoyed from the 2nd and 3rd floors of this plantation style home!
Waterfront Park is one of the most popular parks in Charleston due to its beautiful waterfront views of Fort Moultrie, the Charleston harbor, and the Ravenel Bridge. With its picturesque pineapple fountain and scenic boardwalk, this is one Charleston park you don’t want to miss.
8 Prioleau Street Unit B is one of only 3 beautiful town homes located in prestigious Factor’s Watch, overlooking Waterfront Park. This 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom home was originally built in 1860 but has been completely renovated and updated, complete with a chef’s kitchen, 2 gas fireplaces, and all en-suite bedrooms.
This park has it all! From dog parks, to camping, fishing and miles of walking trails, this park has something for everyone-not to mention a children’s water park and numerous recreational soccer fields and volleyball courts.
Located just a short drive from downtown Charleston, James Island is one of the fastest growing in the area due to its beautiful scenery and tidal creeks, in addition to its proximity to the beach.
Just down the road from James Island County Park is 1205 Seaside Plantation Drive, a stunning waterfront residence of 4,281 sq ft, featuring 4 beds and 3 ½ baths. Taking in breathtaking views of the Clark Sound is an everyday occurrence here, and the sunsets over Morris Island will never disappoint.
The delights of Folly Beach are minutes away, while the Charleston Peninsula is close by. A multi-level elevator makes this house easily accessible, and large picture-style windows allow an unprecedented view of the marsh.
Hampton Park is the largest park on the peninsula at almost 60 acres. This park is home to a variety of activities all year round and is often used by families and college students alike, as The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina is right next door.
Hampton Park is also a favored wedding venue and is great for entertaining crowds. Because of its location on the northwest edge of the peninsula, Hampton Park can feel more like a neighborhood park, and can often be one of the quieter, less crowded parks in Downtown Charleston.
Close to Hampton Park, 9 F Street is a perfect gateway to downtown Charleston. Featuring 2 beds, 1 bath, and 672 sq ft, this home is walking distance from the fun of upper King Street and its plethora of bars, restaurants, and shops.
Close to the center of the peninsula, 9 F Street offers easy access to all the best amenities of downtown Charleston, including Hampton Park and the South Carolina Aquarium close by. Both Folly Beach and Sullivan’s Island beach are accessible via Hwy 17, making beach trips a breeze.
Last but not least, Marion Square is an expansive greenspace in the heart of downtown Charleston! It was originally created as the parade deck for the Citadel, but when the campus was moved in the early 1900s it became a community hub. It is home to many events throughout the year such as Charleston Fashion Week and the Charleston Food and Wine Festival.
Every Saturday morning in Marion Square you can find the Charleston Farmers Market, but every other day of the week you can find musicians, dogs, and families out and about enjoying this preserved greenspace. Many College of Charleston students use the green to study in the warm Charleston sun.
79 Society Street A is located just 2 blocks from Marion Square! This 2-bedroom 2-bathroom condo has been beautifully restored and is within walking distance to all Downtown Charleston has to offer!
