Have you ever dreamed of going to the world’s largest oyster festival? Now is your chance! The 2023 Lowcountry Oyster Roast brings over 45,000 pounds of local fresh steamed oysters to the grounds of Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant. Join us on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 for what’s been named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society.
The annual bash is hosted by Toadfish, a locally owned eco-friendly lifestyle brand selling coastal products native to the Lowcountry. Not only will Toadfish have their own pop-up shop but they also will have a variety of vendors showcasing their wares. Live musical guests will take to the main stage to provide entertainment along with a raw oyster eating and shucking contest. A variety of local Lowcountry food providers will be on-site to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.
The event efforts are in support of The Charleston Restaurant Foundation (CRF) in tandem with the Lowcountry Hospitality Association. Their mission is clear, to advocate for member restaurants in Charleston by providing them with the resources to serve local Lowcountry cuisine. This annual fundraiser is pivotal to getting back to our community and to date has donated $1,000,000 to local charities in our community.
