(November 3rd, 11am-5pm) Johns Island County Park hosts one of the biggest fall festivals of the year. Featuring five different Carolina bluegrass bands, homemade barbeque, kettle corn, and a crafters market, this festival is fun for all ages. Hay rides and an archery competition (supervised of course) make for an exciting day outdoors for the kids. Admission is $8 a person, and free for kids under 12. Link here.
(November 9th-Jan. 1st Gates open 5:30pm) This impressive spectacle is something you don’t want to miss. After dark, James Island County Park lights up with over 2 million festive lights along a 3-mile driving tour. Carousel rides and marshmallow roasting are hosted, and visitors can navigate several walking trails with incredible lighting displays. Don’t forget to sample the concessions, the food is remarkable! On Monday-Thursday, bring a canned food item for donation to the Lowcountry Food Bank, and receive discounted admission. View here.
(January 9-20, 2019, at select restaurants) One of the most anticipated events of the year, Restaurant Week is the best time to savor world-renowned Lowcountry recipes. Participating restaurants offer specials on dinner and lunch menus, so bring your appetite and take the opportunity to experience the best of Charleston’s delicacies at a lesser price. (January 14 and February 11, 2019) On the second Sunday of every month, King Street’s famous shops and dining establishments open their doors and take to the streets. A lively festival of shopping and socializing, second Sunday has become a favorite of both locals and visitors for many years. Sample the plethora of crafts and wide selection of food samples from your favorite restaurants, all while savoring the fresh air. (November 22nd, 2018) Thanksgiving will forever be known as a day of feasting, and Wild Dunes Resort certainly knows how to feed a crowd.
