Charleston saw quite a bit of wet weather in the beginning of October of this year, and while it lasted a few days too long, we are happy to report that the coast is clear and we finally have the beautiful Fall weather we’ve been waiting so patiently for! 1. The Sixth Annual Charleston Mac Off
- Where? The Grove at Patriot’s Point, Mount Pleasant
- When? October 24, 2015, 2:00PM – 7:00PM
- What? 25 local Charleston restaurants will compete for the title of “Best Mac and Cheese in Charleston.” The competition is strong, be sure to bring your best taste testers! The event will also include a mac & cheese eating competition, a homegrown cooks competition, as well as a bourbon tasting component. Bring your family, a blanket and chairs and spend the day! 2. Overall And Aprons: A Documentary
- Where? Charleston Music Hall, Downtown Charleston
- When? October 28, 2015, 7:30PM
- What? A documentary feature exploring how Charleston is struggling to tackle the economic, environmental and health concerns by sustaining a localized food system. 10 of Charleston’s most acclaimed chefs visit their suppliers in search of quality ingredients, shedding light on the issues surrounding sustainable agriculture.

3. Fifth Annual Pig Roast and Bourbon Sip
- Where? Palmetto Brewery, 289 Huger Street, Downtown Charleston
- When? November 1, 2015, 3:30PM – 6:00PM
- What? This event features live music from the Dallas Baker Band, bourbon tastings, as well as an array of southern BBQ. In addition to the traditional pulled pork and chicken, Poogan’s Porch will be serving many of their customer favorites, including buttermilk biscuits and mac and cheese. 4. National Circus and Acrobats of the PR of China
- Where? Charleston Gaillard Center, Downtown Charleston

- What? Founded in 1953, The National Circus and Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China is one of the longest running and most distinguished circus troupes in China. 5. 4th Annual Harvest Festival

- What? The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission presents its 14th Annual Harvest Festival featuring live music from five local Bluegrass bands. 6. Art on the Beach & Chefs in the Kitchen
- Where? Sullivan’s Island
- When? November 8, 2015, 1:00PM – 5:00PM
- What? Art on the Beach & Chefs in the Kitchen is composed of an afternoon of house tours on Sullivan’s Island. Enjoy the ambiance that the island offers while browsing creations for sale by local artists, listening to live music, and tasting delicious food prepared by Charleston area chefs. 7. Party for the Parks
- Where? Cannon Park, 131 Rutledge Avenue, Downtown Charleston
- When? November 14, 2015, 6:00PM – 10:00PM
- What? The Charleston Parks Conservancy’s largest fundraiser is back! Come celebrate Charleston’s parks with food, drinks, live entertainment, and auction items at the beautiful Cannon Park, downtown.
The food at the event will come from several of Charleston’s well known restaurants and caterers including, Indaco, Oak Steakhouse, Relish Distinctive Catering, Bull Street Gourmet & Market, Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, Vincent Chicco’s, Monza, Básico + Mixson Bath & Racquet Club and Burwell’s Stonefire Grill.
