Looking Back at the 2021 Charleston Real Estate Market: The Year in Review

Handsome Properties January 14, 2022

Looking back at 2021, Charleston County real estate saw more than a 27 percent increase in median sale prices and a nearly 60 percent drop in housing inventory. Handsome Properties Founder and Broker In Charge Deborah C. Fisher noted, “Our Charleston market is still very strong with limited inventory.

The prices are holding at this point but may start to increase if the inventory does not significantly increase after the beginning of the year.” “I would encourage a Seller or a Buyer to jump into the market and secure a property as soon as you are able.

The strongest recommendation that I can give is to register on our website, to create a customized listing update,” Fisher stated. “Once your personal listing update is created, you will automatically be informed through your email of any new properties that meet your search criteria.” Registering for an account on our website takes just seconds.

When you set up your account, you can request to have a Handsome Properties agent set up a customized listing update for you and discuss neighborhoods, schools, and information important to you to make an educated decision on your purchase.

Your Handsome Properties agent can schedule a visit to the property in person or virtually as soon as possible. “In this market, it is imperative that if you want to purchase the right home, you will need a professional REALTOR® to assist you,” Fisher added.
