The holiday season is in full swing in Lowcountry, bringing a variety of festivities for all to enjoy. From oyster roasts to ice skating, we’ve gathered our top local Charleston events to wrap up 2022.
Our Handsome Properties team enjoyed the Aquarium Aglow holiday exhibit at the South Carolina Aquarium.
Light The Lake | Friday, December 2nd from 5:00 – 7:00 PM | Colonial Lake | The Charleston Parks Conservancy is hosting the annual event, Light The Lake. Attendees can enjoy a variety of crafts, food vendors, and the tree lighting ceremony in Harleston Village. This event is free and open to the public.
Skate the Stadium | December 2nd | Credit One Stadium, Daniel Island | For the first time ever, the Credit One Stadium will transform into a winter wonderland, featuring an outdoor skating rink and other festive events.
Additionally, they are hosting weekly themed events to enjoy throughout the month of December. This series will be open to the public Thursday through Sunday each week. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased on the website. This includes skate rental and a 1-hour skating session, non-skaters can enter for free.
Charleston Holiday Market | Saturdays & Sundays, December 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th & 17th | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Marion Square, 329 Meeting St | The farmers market has extended their hours through the month of December. Stop by Downtown to shop local produce and special holiday vendors this season.
Miracle on Market Street | December 16th – 18th | Charleston Place, Meeting Street | This European-like holiday market will offer a variety of Charleston retailers, live performances, food, and beverages. This event is open to the public and a portion of the market proceeds will benefit The Post and Courier’s Good Cheer Fund.
Aquarium Aglow | Now until December 31st | South Carolina Aquarium | Enjoy this elevated holiday experience at the South Carolina Aquarium. With thousands of lights displayed throughout, this event will put attendees in the holiday spirit. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased on the website.
Charleston Holiday Parade | Sunday, December 4th | Broad Street – Calhoun Street | Kick off this holiday season by attending the Charleston Holiday parade. The parade will start on Meeting Street and end on Calhoun Street, followed by a tree lighting in Marion Square. Parade participants include musical ensembles, clubs, and organizations.
Candlelit Tours at Drayton Hall | December 2th, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th | Drayton Hall | Experience this historic estate in West Ashley in a unique way with their seasonal candlelight tour. This series is reservation only and tickets are $50 for members and $55 for non-members. Reservations and ticket purchases can be made on their website.
Oyster at the Point | Charleston Harbor Resort | December 10th, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM| This seasonal event in Mount Pleasant will feature $13 buckets of oysters, live music, and more. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online in advance on their website.
Mosquito Beach Oyster Roast & Craft Market | December 11th, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Celebrated the 75th anniversary of The Historic Charleston Foundation at their Mosquito Beach Oyster Roast. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased on their website.
Holiday Strings | December 16th & 17th, 7:30PM – 9:30PM| Charleston Library Society | Enjoy a special performance by The Charleston Symphony Orchestra string quartet of traditional Holiday music. Tickets start at $50.
Hotel Bennett | December 1st – 31st | Gabrielle Plaza | There will be activities for all to enjoy this year at Hotel Bennett’s month-long celebration. Check out their website for the full events calendar.
Little Pine, Holiday Pop-Up | Now until February 15th | Ryder Hotel | This winter Little Palm Bar welcomes Little Pine for a limited-time pop-up bar experience.
