Welcome to Daniel Island
It is an affluent island town of approximately 11,000 residents. Located 25 minutes northeast of
Charleston, this master-planned community is bordered by the Wando River to the east and the Cooper River to the west.
Up until the early 1990s, Daniel Island real estate was primarily farmland and used for cattle ranching, and as a private hunting retreat for the wealthy. Most of the development has been relatively recent and presents many new real estate opportunities for homebuyers.
This up-and-coming community has seen lots of new additions since its humble beginnings as a rural area. Two sports facilities, acres of parkland, and golf courses have since been built, on top of an already growing market of Daniel Island real estate. Further development of its downtown commercial district will bring many more restaurants, businesses, and condo buildings to this already attractive coastal living option.
The Daniel Island real estate market offers home buyers a diverse selection of homes to choose from. You can expect to find single-family homes in addition to apartments, condominiums, and custom estates. The stunning natural backdrop provides many homes with exceptional coastal, golf course, river, and marsh views, and the abundance of parks and trails adds peaceful tranquility that is not found in the city.
Homebuyers looking to build their dream home from the ground up can also find a good number of vacant lots available for sale. The only thing limiting you is your imagination and your budget. Despite the upscale real estate market in Daniel Island, most homes are priced accordingly. Homesites can be purchased for about $100,000, whereas resale homes can range from $150,000 for a condominium to upwards of several million for those prime waterfront estates.
