It is an affluent island town of approximately 11,000 residents. Located 25 minutes northeast of Charleston, this master-planned community is bordered by the Wando River to the east and the Cooper River to the west.
 
Up until the early 1990s, Daniel Island real estate was primarily farmland and used for cattle ranching, and as a private hunting retreat for the wealthy. Most of the development has been relatively recent and presents many new real estate opportunities for homebuyers.
 
This up-and-coming community has seen lots of new additions since its humble beginnings as a rural area. Two sports facilities, acres of parkland, and golf courses have since been built, on top of an already growing market of Daniel Island real estate.
