Wraggborough

Wraggborough

Garden-lined downtown living beside museums and markets.

Welcome to Wraggborough

Located on the east side of downtown Charleston, Wraggborough homes for sale are highly sought and hard to find. Wraggborough is bordered by the Charleston Music Hall, the Charleston Visitors' Center, the Galliard Auditorium and the Charleston Maritime Center.

The neighborhood is made up of original stately homes and nicely renovated Charleston singles boasting open floor plans. You'll definitely notice Charleston's grand architectural style prominently on display throughout the borough.

Wraggborough real estate was first developed in the early 19th century by John Wragg and the streets are named for different Wragg family members. Known as the "Garden District", Wraggborough boasts more green space than any other downtown Charleston neighborhood. It's a block away from Marion square which is home to seasonal farmers markets, a summer film series and several community benefits and annual festivals.

Wraggborough is home to the Charleston Museum (founded in 1773), which is known as "America's First Museum". You'll also find the historic Aiken-Rhett house in the neighborhood. Noted for its size and deluxe interior, the house is the most intact townhome complex in downtown Charleston and it shows what antebellum life was like looking back through the pages of history.

Wraggborough Luxury Homes & Amenities

When you're discovering Wraggborough luxury homes, you'll also discover the borough is home to Wragg Mall and Wragg Square, beautiful neighborhood parks. The neighborhood is also close to several cultural spots like the Charleston Children's Museum of the Lowcountry, the Charleston Public Library and Charleston Music Hall.

Of course, Wraggborough is just off upper King Street, which features great nightlife and outstanding restaurants. The prestigious neighborhood is also close to the College of Charleston, The Citadel, Buist Academy, Charleston School of Law and MUSC, making it a perfect place for a teaching professional to call home.

When it comes to schools, Wraggborough is zoned for the Charleston public system. There are several highly-regarded private schools in the area including Ashley Hall, a K-12 college prep school for girls, and Porter Gaud, a K-12 co-ed prep facility.
