Wagener Terrace is another one of Charleston, South Carolina's more established neighborhoods. Located on a peninsula in the north western end of town, this charming community of 3,669 residents is bordered by the Ashley River to the west, Hampton Park to the south and North Central to the east. Other nearby communities includes West Ashley across the river, North Charleston to the north, Cannonborough/Elliotborough to the far south and Mount Pleasant.

This historic area dates back to the late 1800s when it was a plantation property. In the late 1910s, the property was subdivided into what is known as the Wagener Terrace neighborhood today.

Downtown Charleston is just a quick bike ride away, making this location especially convenient for working professionals and families looking for the variety in real estate and peaceful surroundings without sacrificing amenities. The neighborhood's convenient location near The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina also makes this a winner for students.

The Wagener Terrace real estate market is made up of three smaller neighborhoods: Lowndes Point, Longborough and Wagener Terrace. While the bulk of properties were built in the 1920s-1950s, there has been a string of new luxury developments popping up along the Ashley River.
